Re: Felipe ANDERSON - Signed
he has fast feet, is very pacey with superb awareness,
if we play to his strengths he will also score goals as well as assist in them.

we need to play to his strengths and not our managers philosophy

Re: Felipe Anderson - Signed
Snodgrass is way better than him this season and that says a lot.
Anderson can still make the team, but should be a sub or starting and not playing the whole game.
For me he has played well in one game this season, Bournemouth at the bowl.
If he cannot defend and still be effective going forward then that is not good enough. He has to work to do both if he is make it for us.
Right now or this summer, if he can still command a good transfer price, I would sell him.

He’s one of our better players

He is massively overrated

On form he is decent at best

Off form he is a liability

At the start he was quick and exciting. He had the life sucked out of him by 'not running back' all the time and having to be defensive... He was called lazy

How many times do you see Salah run all the way back?
- Rarely... Other people cover and switch across so that he has the energy to surge forward and is always a threat

Most talented, skillful and technical player we have. Creates many of our goals.
Anyone who can't see that should go and watch wrestling instead.

Re: Felipe Anderson - Signed
I agree about creativity, but he slows our attack down, passes back, sideways or just loses the ball in a pretty uncompetitive way. This season completely crap on the counter. The crazy thing is every time he gets a opportunity to go forward I expect he to do it, even though the last load of times he has been pretty crap!

Re: Felipe Anderson - Signed
He has under performed to say the least but it would be madness to leave him out of the run in. Despite his faults he is still more likely than most to create something and his pace on the counter-attack gives the opposition plenty to think about.

Re: Felipe Anderson - Signed
He is a difficult player, so much potential, but no delivery. Unfortunately, looking like being just a good squad player that is a bit hit and miss.

Re: Felipe Anderson - Signed
Fuck the stats and data, he was pony in the first half on Monday night, or was I watching a different game?

No doubting he has talent, more than most of the first eleven, but most of the time he’s a lazy, disinterested, bottle job. People talk about the job Moysie did with Arnie, which I think was more luck than anything else. In the main, he manages to make most of our players look even worse than they already are.

Mad to think this time last year there was talk of big clubs offering region 70 mill for him.

Re: Felipe Anderson - Signed
The sad reality of this is that there isn't gonna be anymore to come from him, this is it and it's nowhere near good enough for what we paid. Spew out pointless facts all you want but we had our trousers pulled down. Just another legacy of Pellegrini's failed reign.

Stowie.40 9:27 Wed Feb 26
Re: Felipe Anderson - Signed
End of the day, he’s nowhere near worth the money we paid for him and is easily replaceable. It wouldn’t be like when Payet went and we couldn’t get a player of that quality to come in. We Could have signed Traore and Maddison together for what we paid for him and regardless of stats they are miles better players.

When you were playing football Alex, did you dribble up to a full back and think 'one more defender beaten and I'm 5th in the team stats for this season'?

Ag ag ag!

I have to say, although I rib him for his reliance on DATA, I actually appreciate Alex's STATTO role. Stats have some value in football. Nowhere near as much value as some believe, but they have value - and somebody's got to look at them. Alex is WHO's someone. It takes all sorts.

As said before he's got great feet good vision but never tackles ! he bottles contact and is asking for a leg break.

Re: Felipe Anderson - Signed
Rossal what are you on mate.. Again, 2 goals scored from open play in 8 games without him. 1 every 4 games. And you are saying that he was shit since the beginning of the season. Highest rated player according to whoscored btw.

Re: Felipe Anderson - Signed
I missed the first 25 minutes last night as i had my own football i couldnt get out of. but in the part i watched i thought he looked decent,

Obviously rusty but he still left the supposed best right back in the world for dead at least 2 or 3 times but was just so isolated when he got forward that finding a pass against the best defence in the league was always going to prove difficult.

That being said there were also a number of times when he let Alexander-Arnold just run away from him and could have cost us a goal on at least one occasion.

I think he needs to be playing in more of a free role where a "luxury" player has more cover rather than our fullback being outnumbered every time he fails to track back properly.

Like i said, when he has a good game against anyone on that list come find me :D

"So now he is the first line of defence, but always covers Cresswell.." Well...yes? Not sure how to respond tbh

Re: Felipe Anderson - Signed
Rossal 2 goals from open play in 8 games without him. Heavily involved in most of our goals. 3rd best tackler in the team. There's not much to disagree about.
